Our Student Hunger Program began in 2013 when Kim MacDonald, a concerned teacher at Leo Hayes High School, believed that up to 200 students in the school were going to school hungry every day.

That year, the Fredericton Community Kitchens partnered with the teachers and administration to start providing free, daily lunches. What started with one school over ten years ago has now expanded to include 20+ schools in the greater Fredericton area and over 61,000 meals provided to students and families in need every year!
