10 years ago on October 29th, Leo Hayes High School & the Fredericton Community Kitchens met for the first time to talk about the problem of student hunger in our schools. From that meeting, the Student Hunger Program was born.

Come enjoy some AMAZING 3-course dinner, be the first to see our new mural by artist Laura Forrester, check out our newly redesigned space, help us raise money to feed hungry kids & join your community in celebrating an important date in our city!!

What to Expect:

Chefs Dale & Lou will be preparing you a 3-course spaghetti dinner to remember! Our team includes Red Seal Chefs (and one of our chefs has even cooked a meal for the Queen). They'll be putting their expert skills to the test to whip you up this delicious dinner - and maybe share a tale or two about the kitchens!

You'll be served by some of our amazing volunteers and Board of Directors while being entertained by local artists.

Juice & a Special Non-Alcoholic Beverage

Come join us for a day of learning at the Library! We're co-hosting a story time with the library all about food and food security. We'll be there selling merchandise, accepting donations and sharing information as well. We can't wait to see you there!!

Want to see behind the scenes of the Student Hunger Program? Come by our Open House on Wednesday October 18th from 1:30-4:30 PM to get a tour of Kim's Kitchen! There will be yummy snacks prepared by our team, information to share and swag for purchase.

Join us on Saturday October 7th for a Market Day at the Fredericton Boyce Farmers Market! We will be there from 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. selling t-shirts, totes, backpacks and more for Student Hunger Month!!

Join us on Tuesday October 3rd at 11 a.m. as we raise the Student Hunger Month flag in honour of October being Student Hunger Month! There will be cake, swag to purchase and some rousing speeches so don't miss out

Come join us Saturday October 22nd as the UNB Reds take on Saint Mary’s University! Bring a non-perishable food donation or some cash & be entered to win a Reds Jersey! All food and funds donated will go to helping feed hungry kids in our schools!

Join us Saturday October 22nd for our MEGA STUFF-A-BUS FOOD DRIVE! Stop by one of 5 locations between 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and help us fill a school bus at each location FULL of non-perishable food items. We will also be accepting cash! All food will be donated to Feed the Lions and Kats’ Kitchen and all funds to the Student Hunger Program!
